Children’s Healing Art Project (CHAP) brings the healing power of art to children and families facing medical challenges. At CHAP, children are known for their creativity and ingenuity not by their disease, diagnosis or disability.
CHAP’s innovative healing arts programs reach critically ill, chronically ill, and disabled children (and their loved ones) as well as those facing mental health challenges with programs that strengthen, encourage, and inspire.

Since 2006, CHAP has been visiting area hospitals to provide healing art experiences for children and their families. CHAP is currently visiting children and families at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) Doernbecher Children’s Hospital on a weekly basis and we expect to expand to many more medical facilities in 2023.

Every January, we conduct an Art Supply Drive. If you, your business, or an organization you know would like to host an Art Supply Drive for CHAP any time of the year, CHAP will provide you everything you need. Please contact Faye at faye@chappdx.org or call 503-243-5294 for details.

The items listed on the CHAP Wish List are the most needed art supplies that will be provided directly to children and families.
Thank you for supporting the children and families CHAP serves!
