Art Rock Band
Are you ready to rock out with a band of instruments created from scratch? In this art rockin’ and makin’ workshop, artists will design and create their own instruments using a variety of upcycled and studio materials. Artists can dream up a totally new instrument, or get inspiration from sample instruments in the studio. At the end of the workshop, artist rockstars will get the chance to jam out together and form the greatest art rock band of all time! Register here.
The Big Bug Ball!
Let’s have an underground adventure with our VIP guests, giant paper-mache bugs! Artists will each pick out a life-size paper-mache bug, this could include crawling or flying insects, and completely transform it into a bug from their imagination! At the end of the workshop, we will have a big bug ball with all our stylin’ new bug friends! Register here.
Coral Creations
This virtual workshop will explore the beauty, textures, and patterns of coral reefs. Each participant will be sent a box filled with CHAPpy materials for one longer or two shorter virtual art projects. Boxes may include clay, model magic, upcycled items, and other materials to bring your coral creations to life! This workshop will take place via Zoom. The Zoom link, instructions, and detailed project themes will be sent beforehand.
*Registration for this workshop will close on 07/22/24 so that boxes can be delivered.
Color Your World!
Have you ever wanted to create a world completely from your imagination? In this workshop, the studio will be transformed into a blank canvas using life-size cardboard house-like structures. Drawing inspiration from Meow Wolf installation art and artist Alexa Meade, artists will design their own abstract space through painting and other mediums to bring this blank canvas set to life. Artists will paint and create cardboard tables, chairs, kitchenware, plants, and anything they can dream up to populate their unique world. (Participants that joined the past two workshops can utilize the costumes and props they’ve created to fully immerse themselves in this magical story!) Register here!
Artlandia: An Exploration of Art!
Are you an artist who wants to explore all kinds of different mediums and learn from practicing, passionate local artists? Then this is the workshop for you! Artists will explore different mediums, learn various processes from working guest artists, and possibly take a mini field trip to an artist’s studio! This workshop will also include a project on prop-making that could be used in the final workshop series, “Color Your World”!
Summer Art Workshops: Terrific Textile Art!
Time to get tactile! We will explore the fantastical world of fiber art in this workshop. Projects may include sewing, felting, fiber installation art, handmade paper, fabric dyeing, and a special costume-making project that could be used in our final “Color Your World” workshop series.
