Carolyn began volunteering at CHAP in 2011 and was hired as a hospital-based teaching artist in 2012.  She holds a MA in Counseling with additional coursework in Art Therapy, and worked as an elementary school counselor for 20 years.  While living on eight acres in the country and raising her two children, she also made stained glass windows, milked goats, raised black sheep and angora rabbits and spun their wool.  As a young child Carolyn watched images magically appear in her dad’s makeshift darkroom and since that time has pursued her interest in photography.

Carolyn believes in the profound healing power of art and is honored to facilitate that journey for the courageous, creative individuals CHAP serves.
